Homologous network construction
  • Andrew July 2011
    Hi everyone!

thank you very much for such a nice piece of software. Great job!

I have a question about construction of homologous networks. May be I missed someth,
but I couldn't find in your tutorials how I can construct a homologous network (let's say mouse)
from a given one (for example Human). We are studying conservation of different molecular modules like protein complexes starting from lower organisms such as Drosophila up to Humans.

Thanks in advance for you help!

    Hi,

currently this can be done using "Build Transcription Regulatory Network" Wizard. We will separate homologous networks construction into the new "Build Homologous Network" Wizard soon.
So currently, mouse select all your genes in your network and right click "Build Transcription Regulatory Network". As a first step this Wizard has homologous search,
where you can specify organisms you want to find homologs in and homology stringency (sequence BLAST similarity score). After finding homologs you can export gene list or save as a cluster. Using this gene list or a cluster (from Clusters/Groups subTree in the Project Tree) you can build network using "Build Pathway" Wizard (right click on the selected gene list.

    Hope this helps.
